No, you demolish Chatsworth and build a huge housing estate on the Capability Brown park. Then an hour's drive away, perhaps on a brownfield site in Sheffield, you build a large house, vaguely like Chatsworth but perhaps built of breeze blocks and set amongst a bulldozed reclaimed bit of land. Job done!

I had a deletion & won a few Arbtalk points for swearing (with *stars) on this thread. Better be careful now!....

Owen Paterson isn't doing a very good job and has made a few boo-boos, in my opinion, but maybe things will get better. Peace & love to all men, women & children. With very best wishes, steve.

"the environment secretary had long made it clear that his priority was growing the economy as well as improving the natural environment".

Now there's two priorities that are mutually exclusive. Mercifully we should be able to vote these people out before they get to do any real damage.

this has been on facebook and well is anything safe thought with the tories in and being of the landed gentry they would want to look after the woods. looks as if i am wrong. keep there hands off the woodlands make them a wildlife reserve like marshes but managed not neglected like a lot of old woodlands. without these this country would be very poor of its rich habitate that live and grow in these woods
