Storms along the Coast

Just been down to Crosby and Liverpool Bay to see the coast being hit hard by high tide and strong winds blowing onshore from Irish Sea and the bay.

Loads of people out watching and keeping a safe distance.

Are the Gormley sculptures still there in the sea?

Yeah, they did try to move them but local people put a petition up to save them. They where under a good extra 4-5 metres of water today.

Glad to see some people are using common sense.

 

Two lives have been lost already because they got too close.

 

And that's not rough.... Lifeboatmen call that "a bit lumpy"

Not so much a storm earlier, more a tidal surge. It came to within inches of flooding parts of Belfast, including nearly re-floating the SS Nomadic,s dry dock.

Sad to hear that, we are lucky to still have the RNLi at Crosby. It can get rough here and as lumpy as it was it was still impressive to watch from the safety of dry land:001_smile:
