Husky 555 spec

Just found this on the Husky website, anyone here using it?

HUSQVARNA 555 - Powerful robust saws

 

Not an XP.

 

Looking at the specs the 555 engine is bigger (59.8cc) than the 550XP (50.1cc).... more powerful (3.1kw vs 2.8kw), has higher max torque (3.51Nm vs 2.8Nm) yet has better fuel consumption (438g/kWh vs 446g/kWh).

 

Downside is that it is heavier by 0.7kg.

 

Upside is that it's cheaper.

 

Maximum power is at a lower rpm, so maybe it'd be more reliable than the 550XP?

 

Any thoughts?.....

I don't know about that?.... but if it has more power than the 550xp yet uses less fuel and doesnt scream it's ass off so much maybe it would last longer?

 

Oh, AND it has less vibration than the 550XP!

My local tractor supplier has several Husky's on display. Has this one has been out for some time? couple of yrs? its a lot bigger in real life that that photo.

It's a detuned 560xp, it has a lower rpm max torque because it doesn't have stuffers to increase transfer velocity.

It's still an e-carb!

And you're comparing a 50cc to a 60cc, did you compare the 346xp to a 359?

 

Ian Morgan (local trainer) is running 5 of them, only problem he has had so far was a clutch.

 

Finally, I suggest you do some maths with those figures, you'll find the 555 uses more fuel (hence a bigger tank). And it's limited to 13,500 rpm, so it doesn't rev any slower than the 560

ah, thanks. Is a bit misleading of husky with the way they've quoted the spec then. But regardless of the difference in cc... overall, it's spec says it uses less fuel than the 550xp and is more powerful.
