Where to have quadchip serviced near Huddersfield

Had my Quadchip for 12 months now and would like to have someone carry out the annual service. I do the routine levels/blades/greasing etc but want a pro checkover / service of the engine. I have phoned Balmers who are my local (40 miles away) greenmech dealers and got quoted in my opinion a ridiculous price.

Does anyone in the Huddersfield ish area use and recommend an independent?

Yes I could do the oil and filters myself but I want an independent to give it the once over and have that stamp in the book so to speak.

Thanks

Kevin

Hello,

I don't get ours done annually but at the hours laid down in the manual.

As far as I am aware, our dealer only changes the oil and filter (which is a total pain to do as the chassis is in the way) as well as a change of fuel filter.

They check out stuff when I ask them too and even repair things without asking like the insulation which seems to need re-sticking every few months.

I get the brakes checked regular but we still have issues with the towing apparatus knocking badly that no-one seems to know how to cure.

I grease, I do the blades, I blow the air filter out and I open up the body and scoop out the mess of dust that builds up but that's as far as my expertise goes.

I do it as our dealers for the 'stamp' effectively so we can get a decent trade in price one day.

Regards

Ty

It's the independent look over and the stamp I want but I am not willing to pay £470+VAT for an oil and filter change!!

When I read your first post I was thinking it can't be much to do that, then I looked at your last post with price! Wow that's a lot to do such a little. Unreal!

When I used to do Adams is took me about 4 hours

Oil and filters

Brakes strip, clean, check, adjust

Belts check and tension

Flywheel and Bearings check

Hand brake adjust

Radiator matrix clean

Coolant mix check and level

Tappets if required

Check roller nylon bearings and make sure grease port through roller is clear

Sharpen rollers if necessary and check anvils, replace if required

Check fuel tank for crud depending on condition of fuel filter.

Check lights

Tyre pressures

Check roller motor mounting bolts are tight.

Check damper in tow hitch

That's why I asked you first, knew it would be a full list. I was told what they included and it was only half that lot and if any sharpening was required that would be extra.
