Tbf mate, it's almost identical to the 550xp, with a handful of differences, mainly the cylinder porting and the crank stuffers (or lack of). It's a metal crank exactly the same, mostly because husky are lazy and just down rate a machine to get a 'lower grade' product

Crank stuffers ? layman's terms please :blushing:

Thanks for that, what's the purpose of the stuffers and why do the XP models need them and the others don't ?

Decreases crank case volume, increasing transfer velocity, which means a faster pick up and a better transferral of air fuel mix

I brought a 545 in September for use as a general ground saw smaller than my 365, and would heartily recommend it! In general, I prefer the "semi pro" Huskys over the XP version for all round use, especially when facing dirty wood with bits of metal in, they're a bit more forgiving than the revvy, forestry biased XP saws but still brilliant!

Forestry work, cutting clean softwood and mostly snedding - you want a whizzy 550xp/560xp with chisel chain

Arb work, more logging up than snedding, dirtier timber - 545/555 with semi chisel

At least, that's my opinion!
