I have got the biggest job since the creation of my business coming up this week over all four day. We are taking down 7 large Monteray Pines in a tight area all of which are poss 80-90 feet. I just saw the weather report for this week, rain rain and more heavy rain! Sods law as it has been so dry for so long.

Crane is not a possibilty, but a large tractor/trailer, close tip site, Vermeer Bc 1000 and a TW150 2 chip trucks and 6 guys should do it!!! Logistics are a nightmare but should work. Just this rain is going to ruin it royally.

is there someone local with a roofmount and big trailer. 6 guys:scared1:screw that bring in kit. montereys are a pain in the arse to chip, especially with wee chippers. take a sit back, think about the job, reschedule if you have too and find an easier way. i have ran my business for 11years and never needed more than 4 guys for any job. they will eat your profit and winge like mad in the rain:thumbdown:this is just my 2 pence worth mate. or stop wingeing its only rain:001_tongue:

Rather you than me. Big M Pines are my nemesis. They always put up a good fight.

Nobody i know of with a roof mount locally, i plan to have the trees down in the first 2 days, 1 day picking up wood with the tractor the other with the grinder. It should work well enough. The client wants it done within 4 days, so what can i do. The last company i worked for i was using a Valmet and Botex 560 mounted on a trailer, that would be ideal for this.

As for the rain, i am not really fussed but would rather be tanning than soaking!

personally i dont think the weather will be that bad :) i am the eternal optimist when it comes to looking at forecasts i look at about 4 and they all vary, they dont have much of a clue. i know how you feel, good weather for a while then when you need a reasonable stint (a week its not must to ask for :) ) its seems to go up the swany. but the work always gets done one way or another. sunny gloucestershire you cant beat it :)
