A few months ago, I replenished some of my karabiners from Buxton's.

Climbing the other day one of the karabiners failed, first DMM karabiner I have had that has failed. This failed at the hing of the gate.

I phone Buxton's to inform them about it, I got told to post and send a covering letter with it, but working around the Corner I pop in to return it. The response I got, was a procedure is to send this back to DMM to investigate what went wrong and I be contacted in the near future, that's cool I expected that. I said to the person who served me what do I do for a replacement? Responded: you will have to buy one.

This is not what I was told on the phone 45mins ago, " return the karabiner and we will place it."

This was not to case and the customer service I was hoping to receive, not even a sorry for the inconvenience.

dmm will replace it and prob give ya a liitle extra. was it the plastic gromit that failed?? seems to be fairly common as it has happened to a couple of my colleagues.

Buxtons need to up there game a lot,compared to others there service is pretty poor.They have a real nice set up but there sales manner needs sorting.I used to use them a lot but after a few episodes with them and the final straw was at the arb show this year I won't be using them again.

GUSTHARTS are spot on as with any of the orther big 3 or4. any of them would have given you a replacement and sort'd it for you no questions.
