You sir, have a ****** up technique. This is ******* hilarious! First learn the proper technique. Jumping up in the air doesn't help as much as swinging the maul correctly. Wind up with that maul and strike the log while bending your knees downward. Don't dangle it down your back like an idiot. You do not get any momentum quickly that way. Secondly, that log is too green. That's why your maul bounces off of it. Let it season for at least a year before splitting. Or, you may have a dull blade. It might be a combination of a dull maul and a green piece of wood.

Lastly, DON'T WEAR ******* SANDALS when doing that type of work. What's wrong you you? Wear a good-quality work boot.
