Make sure you are not just pulling on the black lever. Need to use the brake lever as well. Will be a lot smoother if you do. Can fully release the mechanism but use the brake to control descent. You will get used to it the more you use it.

I've just gone back to the cinch after 6 months on the positioner and it's nice to be back on the cinch as I found the ART pos a little bit too jumpy but does sit very well at all times on the harness when getting into various work positions.

Hopefully Paul. Iv taken to this much quicker than I did on the hitch climber when I first tried that I hated it and stuck it back in my kit bag for about six months. Can't see it happening this time. :).
