Took the children to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire today. It’s an excellent place for any Arb to take their family. Some very interesting trees for us all to wonder off and take pictures of - Highly recommended!

 

The first pic was taken around 1900. Amazing how things can change.....

i went there as a kid john while on holiday, does it still have the small railway?

 

Yes buddy, little Josh loved it! It takes you to a nice Yew maize, butterfly farm and an adventure playground.

 

Spotted a horrendous looking Beech with Ustulina while I was there. Did my duty and informed the head-gardener of the nasty little blighter...

It was a fair size already back in 1900, weren't it :001_smile:

 

Pretty amazing that the facade of the Palace hasn't changed a bit in the interim.

Nice one mate. Great pics. Went there as a kid, but the only thing i can remember is coming away thinking "the guy who lives here must be rich"! I think another visit is in order!

john what do you wreckon has happened with the big wellingtonia, has it layered? or are they seperate trees, there is quite a difference in the past and present pics mate
