My terms are on my website and they found me through the site, also my invoices/quotes do state terms apply.

If you have any suggestions mate im all ears re upgrading my terms on the site.

The biggest problem is this was a verbal agreement, tho the person is not complaining about the cost just that the stump was not included. I stated you asked for a low price and just for the tree to be removed and i did state we will cut it down to ground level and that's a quote from me to the person but verbally.

Been there, worded a quote along the lines of 'remove all wood' and then got the phone call about the stump. Lesson learned but ended up getting someone to grind out the stump as good will. There was enough fat on the job to take it in but there was no profit in it after that. Since then I ensure its all plain and simple and worded properly!

If the stump is tiny as you say, grind it for nowt, get paid and move on.

Yes, they are probably thick or trying it on, and it's annoying but life is too short.

I would have mate but that was not what they was after it was a seriously rude person ranting in a way that was way out of proportion for the heinous crime of doing what they asked for.

The option of doing it was not even mentioned just a rant then hung up.

Appreciate the input any way lads will be upgrading my terms tonight.

In that case they'd be getting their tree back then, in little pieces.

FOC of course!

Any witnesses to what you said? If you have, then go down the Small Claims route. They sound to me like they are trying it on. You should bear in mind that my opinion is, however, worth exactly what you have paid for it.

You don't need to change them, you need to provide a written quote and make sure you draw their attention to your t&c's. Nail the quotes down and you don't let problems get an in. :001_smile:

As it happens my workers were in the truck as we pulled up outside and she explained what she wanted and they herd the price as it was all urgent work, normally i tell em to feck off while i price etc.

Appreciate it any way mate still took the time to chat with me :). Ill send the invoice via email, then if no joy send a letter of intent also indicating that the tree will be returned if not paid for and see where that gets then just for the cheek of being conned ill file a small claim (its not about the money).
