This seems to be an all to familiar tale of some companies, I'm concerned that this sort of thing still goes on, for the safety of other people in the future, maybe a word with H&S may be in order. NO-one should ever feel pressurised into lying to protect the company, at least in this instance nobody was seriously injured, but how long before we have fatalities? And if you are not adequately trained, point this out to your supervisor/manager, likewise if the vehicle is not roadworthy, dont drive it. good luck Rentachimp, in the future.

Totally agree! its scum like that who push up the accident figures, and cause more legislation, which they just ignore,.

not defending them, but if the 110 was registed as a cherry picker it would not need MOT

Good point, but a vehicle must be maintained in a roadworthy condition. We had a Landy cherry picker called Lurch, a right pig above 35mph, we moaned to the boss about the handling. Until he tried to drive it, he thought it was the way we drove it. Then he got the suspension up-graded!!

The thing is the boss didn't give a shih about any one just his self.

He didn't care what trouble any one got in to as long as he didn't. I would have been the one to get the points and the fine.

Cannon Horticulture run all of their trucks back overloaded practically every day.

The boys would get the stick if they were stopped, but since most companies flaunt the rules, nobody sees it as a big deal, even boasting about what a load they carried back from x location!

This is one of the things i have said before.

The bigger companies dont follow the rules at all no mot trucks broken safty bars on chippers and no brakes on saws. ancient climbing gear.

Its the small companys most that take the care to make sure every thing is tip top its there money on the line.

Where as the bigger firms have climbers that abuse all the gear and dont care same in any industry with big firms tho.

I think they should have apprenticships in the arb ind would make life easy for all employers and employees.
