if straight and knot free,try find some local timbersports chaps,i know we chop pop quite alot.failing that it actually isnt a terrible firewood once seasoned just burns rather speedy.

Poplar is a great firewood just needs leaving 12 months to fully season prior to splitting mixed with alder and leylandii. Poplar burns up well and then the laser burns slower once lit and the leylandii flames well when dry. I mop up all the pop I can get.

Our pop takes at least a year to season after splitting. Never had any luck trying to season it in the round.

Guy in Stoke bought a load of green poplar now he's selling it 'ready to burn' but of course it won't burn and he won't get any repeat custom as a result.

He's now doing the same with fresh softwood. On that subject I've seen a few pallets of kindling that was sold as dry and covered in a forest of white and grey mould,:001_huh: shocking but its going on.:001_huh:
