Jensen blades

Hi guys, I've just bought a 2nd hand Jensen and was wondering about blade sharpening. I'm near Andover and wondered if anyone knows of a local sharpening service I could use?

I know redwoods don t do sharpening i was going to try arb rep or I suppose it will probably be best to send to saturn machine knives.

Redwoods do do them (someone told me they didn't for some reason) and as they are close it'll save the courier fees

One question I do have though for anyone who can help, they say its a like for like swap of blades. So I give them 2 blunt sets and they give me 2 sharp sets so I don't get mine back.

This is my first Jensen chipper, is this standard practice for Jensen blade sharpening and to be welcomed or should I run a mile??

When I asked a few weeks ago they told me they did not do them and recommend I use saturn knives as that's who they use. Personally I would not want someone else's blades I would always want my own back as I know what use they have had.

Blades only have a limited number of sharpens before they are too short, so worst case is you get back a set of blades that cannot be sharpened even though you took in nearly new ones.

 

Redwoods have always seemed a fair company to deal with.
