We're going to offer a bit over the guide price to the auctioneers and see what happens. Try and do the conveyancing ourselves=gulp

If you do get anywhere and want to give me a shout over the conveyancing, feel free. I'm only a step ahead of you, but at least I will have found all the necessary forms!

ps - Mum's back if you want to tip any more.

4 Grand is very cheap, if your lucky and they take your offer that's brilliant, but 4 grand is pretty much peanuts and i would reckon that there will be loads of interested people at the auction and the price will rocket up with a bit of auction fever.

I was hoping to get a share of 4acres of agricultural land near Cambridge where i could base a yard and start my own woods but it's already way over the guide price. I think that it's currently £15k per acre and still going.

Cheers Alec- that would be great.

Just put in £5200 and waiting to see what happens. Theres £1500 of fees on top so it's not ridiculous cheap but I would be chuffed if it is taken up.

If you could start a yard there then that price sounds good to me. Be brave:001_smile:

Yeah, that's not a certain now. I made enquiries with planning who initially said shouldn't be a problem but when my friend (who i has going in 50:50 on the 4 acres) asked they told him they might have issues with it.

If i did buy it i'd then have high costs to secure it and put down about 100 yards of some kind of all-weather surface for an access road.

we put in the offer which they said 'thank you very much but we're going with the auction. I thought they might.

I'm going to go and bid then in the competitive world of auction. Wish me luck. In truth I don't know how high I will go:confused1:
