oak for natural play areas

Hello All,

I'm looking for a regular supplier of large sections of English oak. Straight timber is of no use to me so I need large irregular crowns. I'm particularly interested in buying complete trees that have been felled for tree safety reasons.

The more character, shakes, splits, holes and burrs the better. I also need very long sections with extreme bends in them.

You might want to consider giving Jem Bates of Bates' Boatyard a ring. He won't be cheap but he may have something in where there are parts of it that are too damaged for him to use. He's just down the road from you.

You could try M J Elliott at Feltwell in Norfolk, They have all sorts of Oak in there yard mainly air dried construction grade beams but it could be a good contact for you.
