I'm using the stihl synth plus as well. It is very thin alright. I allways thought bar oil was supposed to be sticky like anti fling? There's no stickiness whatsoever in synth plus compared to say castrol chain oil. It's basically like thin engine oil. Has anyone tried UNIL lubricants? It's called contact M special chainsaw oil, it came in it from the dealers when I bought a  new saw, it seemed a lot stickier than the fancy stihl watery stuff.

Member on here from Rye oils, they supply all of our lubricants including barrels of chain oil, worth a call.

I've only used synth plus except when subbing and use firms Rotatech. I know what you mean, the Rotatech is goopy and stringy by comparison but all I can say is my bars and chains last just fine on the synth plus so it does the job.
