Just recieved the new Hitch Hiker and Rope runner last night. Had a scramble on the rope runner and at first did not like it at all. It seemed really jerky and all or nothing. had another climb on it today and set the bollard slightly to add some friction. Im using worn in Velocity. Feels much better now. There seems to be a real knack to releasing the 'bird' and spine at the same time. last descent was smooth and controlled. Much happier with it now. Im a real Hitch Hiker fan so interesting to see if I keep hsing the RR.

I'd love a Roperunner but a little baby on the way is making me reconsider every time I go to click on one!! Ha ha!!

Doesn't help that I've borrowed one and fallen in love with it...

Went for a climb this evening in a large spready Elm.....now im loving this thing....only problem is I am getting some slippage/creep when I load it and sit for a few seconds. I think its my old samson velocity rope telling me its getting tired (its ten years old!!!...ha ha..) anyone else had this? Any recomendations rope wise for the RR that I can get from the uk? I was thinking poison ivy.

They are adjustable on the top link bit move the metal pin down it will be less sensitive

I moved the barrel about half way along the groove on third climb and could only just move the 'bird'. cool that you can adjust it though.

It takes very small adjustments to stop the creep. You want to get it so it doesn't slide but barely. If you make it too tight, it will be hard to descend

Gave it a tweak today. Just edged the bollard forward a fraction and it has done the trick. I am enjoying climbing with this thing. Unlike anything else ive used.
