Choosing all the bits is the best part.

Its also best to try before you buy, as one persons ball knacker / Hip crusher / kidney masher, is another mans perfect fit.

For me, Petzl navaho harness every time (About £80 I think).

The Petzl Navaho is not produced anymore. Petzl have now brought out an updated version called the Avao and we have it on our Starter climbing kit. Its very lightweight, tough and very reasonably priced, great for starters.

Here's a link to our climbing kits, we have a Starter kit, a Progressive kit and an Advanced kit, they won't be to everyones liking and you can always add more bits and pieces but these kits will get you up the tree and be able to work them.

Yes they do exist in a mixture of budgets. I'd say try to get down to a shop if that's an option. See what you like/what suits your budget and take it from there. If you need to, have a look at starter kits to see what components you need.

It's personal preference so there is no right or wrong, my only advice would be to buy brand new, with second hand gear you just can never be sure of it's history.
