Ouch! Lucky it wasn't worse, and the gun was fairly far away... How did it happen?

Slip of the finger and low angle of the barrel pointing up hill. He wont be coming back and the keeper and shoot captain will be reporting him to the firearms people. As he didnt even know he had done it despite my screams of pain. The beaters thought someone had broken a bone with the scream i let out.

Epic drive just before lunch for the syndicate today . Up in the park behind West Dean Collage . The bottom end of the " hair drive " . Pheasants in the stratosphere and bugger me sideways they were dragging them down using " high pheasant extreme " No 4 shells . Superbly presented birds with shooting from 1 to 8 . Top job from the keeper .

Just found out i am shooting at Hollam in Somerset just before xmas. Being picked up by a fellow gun for the day early evening ready for a meal at the local b n b. Should be a good day as its a 250-350 bird day on some seriously high birds. Only have to bring myself, my gun and shotgun cert for the day and of course a couple of quid for the sweeps.

Had a day to forget today. I got shot on the shoot i was beating at. The gun was about 50 yards away and could clearly see me and the next gun above. He was asked to unload his gun and put it in the slip for the rest of the afternoon. Its shaken me up a fair bit as its the first time i've been hit from "lethal" range from a shotgun. I am just glad it was a duff cartridge which didnt have much ooomph in it. Otherwise i would be in the local A n E with a severe case of lead based acne. My face is still stinging now from it.

HI MATT hope your ok mate as thats just mad take your eye or more mate sorry to here that mate, the chap need his gun ticket taking away or banned off your shoot mate thanks jon

Not a bad day despite the fog this morning.Stood around for an hour waiting for it to lift which it didn't so it was a :toilet: or bust moment. The first drive went OK with 30 birds shot, the 2nd drive we only shot 8 off due to the fog which the birds didnt like. The 3rd and 4th drives went well and the 5 was going great until someones cocker spaniel legged it through the flushing point before i could get into position.
