an invoice , needs key things ,

 

your details , address

 

ie who the invoice is from ,

 

the date , the invoice was raised

 

a unique identifier ref,

 

the amount you are billing the client

 

what services you provided and are charging for i.e. description of the work you've done

 

when you did the service.

 

any authorisation or client reference / order number

 

payment details , cheques sent to :- made payable too

 

bank transfer payment details if accepted , they will need bank account name Sort & Account number

 

and terms of payment , ie 7 - 14 - 30 days

 

that should get ya started

+1 re quote can do it in office need your company name. then as norm date the job discription and cost of work then send it as a attachment with email. they can then confirm back in writing with a order number. you do the job then just send in invoice as above post work date and cost.

do it all the time for councils. has to be in writing. also may ask you for a copy of your PL insurance. if its county they like 10mil but with school 5 mil should be ok. but they do like it all down in black and white. will not do it on the shake of a hand.

imagine as schools are county then they would require ten mil too.

Ive only ever said to a customer the price and given a receipt. Now i might have a job for the local school an need some help what to put on a written quote an i have no idea where to start with an invoice could realy with some of your knowledge?
