as a fan of Tim Taylor's attitude towards more power aurggh rugh ruh ruh.. I'm extremely disappointed with the latest 020 (MS201t) I've always been a fan of the smoother husky cutting, but they've just never had a cool top handle, is it time to say goodbye to Stihl or are Husky under the same eco-regulations?? seems backwards seeings how you use more fuel going through a cut with that new saw, and the danger aspect of not finishing quick enough.. well, cant we just all drive hybrids or something ??

Its a ripper for sure and seems to get a lot better once broken in as all saws do.. There has been complaints about flimsy build quality.....all I have done with mine is dirty big leylandii hedges and 70ft leylandii take downs in the last two weeks.... The sort of work that usually brakes a 200t chain brake handle and pulls out a few wires ... but it's coped well with being dragged through extremely tight and claustrophobic conditions... My only complaint is the clutch sticker has fallen off!

Seriously though looking at it there appears to be wear from the chainsaw strop loop rubbing on the back.. There has already been one complaint of the loop braking , I'll try and get a pic up later to show what I mean... Mine seems to need cold starting with the choke a lot if put down for more than 10 mins but you soon get used to the quirky auto tune habits as it lays down a fast power band through big cuts.

Overall it's a great performer once you have got used to the ergonomics of the saw,it feels and handles different to a 200t and that takes some getting used to after 15 years of using them day in and out as the saw if choice in a tree.

The saw comes with three different hand grips which is a nice idea as well.

Also an important thing to show your groundy as well is the sight glass on the tank is half full, not full !!! I was wondering why I could do a lot of cutting then barely none!

Try one!

We had one on trial yesterday and today. I had high hopes but I think we might have got a duffer. Hard to start to the point where we gave up. Floods really easily, not keen on the separate choke leaver which feels a bit flimsy and it doesn't feel as rugged as the 200t. Haven't used a 201 yet so can't compare it to that saw. When we started the saw yesterday it kept bogging down. Took us almost a minute and a half to get it running right. Today, when it flooded, went to pull the plug out but found the spanner that fits the side casing nut doesn't fit the spark plug. Little things like that had us annoyed. The rep is going to give us a fly with another saw that is running better and we're keen to give it a go but so far I'm a little underwhelmed. The 200t seems to handle everything you throw at it. Maybe I've been using it too long and it's just second nature. Even flooding the old pro is an easy fix but the 540 ended up back in the locker, unused.

Mine has never flooded . Some times it needs to be revved hard for a few seconds to clear , bit like a 200 on a cold morning first start . The only thing that has happened is a bent rear a.v. spring but its still like it and works fine . will replace it as and when . My mate ran it dry once and had to have the carb reset which took seconds but had to drive to my dealer . In hind sight it would have reset its self if I just revved it hard for a bit / Took the spark screen out strait away . I would say that now after about 4 weeks or so it is stronger than a 200 and light years ahead of a 201 .

lucky you, still got one of the dinosaurs :) MS200T is about a third more powerful than the new 2stroke4stroke eco-friendly engine of the 201 which as a chainsaw is also far weaker structurally (in my experience anyway) let us know how ya find that new one, definitely had lemons out of the box, some just never go right/how they should

upwards and onwards mate :)
