large comercial mower 5 to 6ft

looking at getting a larger ride on for doing larger areas. as above 5ft to 6ft.

to make cutting quicker. like a mulcher. if not sutible side discharge with poss collector unit. for collecting grass if required not to keen on rear discharge after seeing a few at work and not a good finish more like a hay field. and if i can a zero turn mower. any suggestions please and looking second hand as can not yet afford new.

We run a kubota 3680 with a 72" side discharge which is excellent. In big open areas on fortnightly cuts after a few cuts the grass volume is reduced and is well spread out the side shoot. The work rate is amazing on good ground. I know a lot of guys using John Deere also but never seen a 72" on any of them.

with the side shoot and cutting regular do you have any clipping about. as one job it has to be fine with no clippings as such. at present done with a triple gang. but would be a waste to have a set as only this job at present to use on. all others a rotary will be fine.

I think I have a toro225d 6ft with recycler deck. Brillant if you cut once or twice a week but fortnightly you will see some clippings behind. Used to spend 2 hrs on a tractor mower now 25 mins. Not for sale though as may need it for the next house.

I was looking at something like this John Deere 1445 out front ride on tractor mower year 2002 4WD 62" cut | eBay

I could do with a bigger cut, but as I just bought a new chipper the ride on mower will have to do for a bit longer.

ferris or scag both good mowers flail or normal deck and a very good surplier for both machines juction 17 of the m6

have to say do like the scags good mowers ferris have to see one working in proper conditions and not cutting long grass as it makes a crap job with long grass makes hay. need to have a proper look at what is on offer. like a bigger toro as my 425 does a cracking job. and so manovarable which on larger areas would not be so much of a issue. have to see if i can get some on demo to try

You would definitely be aware of clipping more so at the start of the season when the cuttings take longer to desiccate. Although it does spread them well across the ground and evenly.
