How best to do a house sign.

Yes I would say 90% of it with a straight cutter 1.5mm to 3.5mm trend cutters.

 

My concern with using a straight cutter was how to clean up and errors or burns without it being obvious. With the bullnose a curved gouge can be used to clean up discreetly not that it worked out as I hoped this way . Do you do any cleaning up with the straight cutter? If so how?

A pass again with the router or use a chisel and sand, I would of thought it would be easier to make a mistake with a bullnose than a straight edge. I'm going to have to test different cutters now . How deep are you going, I very rarely get the burns now tho

Just had a measure and they are about 4mm deep.

These are not my worst. The lettering I want to do tappers in parts but this makes it harder. What font would you recommend?

Baskerville old face and papyrus is probably my favorite, but using that cutter I would say your limited to one type of font. What other cutters do you have.

Only other option in the box is a straight 6mm up cut spiral. Don't own any V cutters as never normally do this sort of job

Personally I would go for the straight 6mm one, I have some bits I don't use that your welcome too if you want. I'll put pics up in a bit if your interested.
