Eh?:confused1:

maybe i misunderstood what you mean.....you lower a piece with the crane, then wait for the guys on the ground to undo the limb, get the ball back up to you...tie in, then get lifted to the point you want to sling?

personally i'd be doing that whilst the previous piece was being lowered and be in position waiting to attach the sling when the ball got to me. thats just me though, i get bored and fidgety waiting round....thats why i only rig when theres no other choice.

Thanks for all the comments....Glad I'm able contribute something positive to the site once in a while.

spot on Reg, really impressive mate, was that the A6 in Heaton moor?

SJH, that’s right Heaton moor/chapel or thereabouts. Are you local?

Do you send the client a dvd afterwards?

Tom, we generally send them before, even a youtube link….we’ve won quite a few similar such jobs as a result.

Did the groundie who footed the ladder at 8:41 do that instinctively? If he did he’s a top man and deserves a pint! It’s the little things like that that make a top team.

John, I know what you mean, but that fella has only worked with us a couple of times, he’s a builder I think.

Seriously Reg? You climb up every time? Not me. I'm paying for the crane, might as well use it. I also rope off the ball for attaching straps to long laterals.

Ed, the tree would have to be huge or dangerous for me to go to those lengths….that poplar was neither. In most cases I’m already at the slinging point waiting on the crane. Ask me again in 15 years.

do you work with the crane driver regularly? coz you seem to have it down to a T between you.

Rod, yes I’ve worked with the company many times, but have also worked with many other’s with much the same result. It’s what is said before you get up the tree that really counts….more often than not I don’t have to speak to anyone until I’m back down on the ground.
