Stiga ride on mower

You will never get me off my x7series, To good of a mower and the dealer support around here is amazing. Plus not a fan of mulching anymore.

But Bird does keep tell me to get one

Fair comment Tom, the X750/754/758 tractors are excellent and are ideally suited for commercial mowing of large spaces where the best mulched finish is not required.

But in more confined areas that need an excellent finish then the Stiga Park Pro comes into its own.

And of course, the JD is considerably more expensive than the Stiga.

sorry about the thread revival....

current countax mower with sweeper has given up with trying to maintain the garden which is about 1.5acres plenty of trees / open spaces and large hedges to navigate with a slight incline, I also have some ferns to mow a few times a year.

I am thinking about looking at a mulching mower  (for the garden area, ferns just get left as discharge) now as I have run out of space for grass clippings this year.

The machine would also get used for pulling a 4ft countax trailer full of logs and fence posts and wire etc..

I am torn between two stiga mowers:

Park 416 pvm with 100 el combi 3 deck or a Tornado 6108hw

I like the sound of the tornado 6108hw being of a heavy duty spec or is it just marketing ploy?

but the Park 416 is definitely appealing with all the accessories available.

which would you choose?

Hi there. Great forum and has converted me to wanting a stiga.

I don’t have the size of garden (half an acre cut once a week) to warrant the pro but I am considering a tractor Stiga 2084h or 3084h.

The only difference between the two mowers seems to be the engine or. stiga vs brigs and Stratton (£400 extra for the Briggs).

I have a couple of questions - should I still try and get a pro or are the tractors good too?

is the Briggs worth the extra cost? I don’t know much about stiga motors   Any advice would be fabulous- thanks in advance

I have had a Stiga Park President for well over five years and it easily copes with three acres of lawn. However with a wet spring the grass can beat it, making it necessary to bring my trusty Kubota F2400 into play. The Kubota uses a fraction of the (diesel) fuel than the petrol Stiga, The V-twin Briggs engine really gallops through it.

Thanks and the Park was a consideration. Think I’m set on a Stiga now but leaning toward the tractors - either the 2084h or 3084h. Anyone have any experience with Stiga tractor mowers?  Is the extra £400 for a Briggs and Stratton engine worthwhile or shall I save the extra money and stick with the Stiga engine?

thanks in advance

Out of interest why do you wish for a tractor mower when you say you will be cutting weekly? This is where the front deck mulchers shine.

My own park pro manages fortnightly okay enough and never leaves anything ontop but is much happier on weekly.
