Well ive been doing a lot of dismantles the last few weeks, mostly spruce etc..have been snedding up to the top and dropping my rope bag down after to save tangles etc..Now what i didn't realize is my rope wrench was in the bottom of my bag and one of the side plates has a slight bend in it.I only noticed it after climbing some aspens and it seemed to still work good. I cant see any fractures etc..Can i buy a side plate from somewhere? Since it still works ok and its not life support would it be fine working with it?

Any help would be great thanks.

Also Is there a way to anchor at the top work down and retrieve from the ground rather then going back up and untying?

Cheers guys i understand what you are saying but maybe what im asking is not clear enough.Ive been doing a ton of snedding and knocking heads out of mainly spuces/pines and just take my rope up in my rope bag so the rope isnt getting tangled in a ton of branches, then im either just coming down or swinging out to either top or dismantle other trees i can reach from my anchor point. Is there a way to just tie the Anchor at the top and still be retrievable?
