have a client who has a largish (18") SC showing signs of dying back. but this is starting at the lowest part of the canopy, whilst the top is still healthy green at this stage.

half mile down the road, I notice another customers coup of SC shows signs of this, but these are smaller trees coppiced around 7-9yrs. again crown showing Autumn colour tinges top to bottom. in two pockets. (from what I can see driving)

our other customer a mile down the road also has the odd tree showing symptoms. these are again 10" or so and also smaller 1" thick coppice regrowth.

I am on the wrong computer at the moment so no pictures. but what is it and should I be concerned ???

All I can say is that down here they all thin out a bit at this time of year. Dropping loads of brown and yellow leaves, the foresters hereabouts say that there is a fungus that's killing all the coppiced. I dunno, lots of trees drop or at least show a bit of heat stress at this time of year. Did you get those pics?
