Farmi Chipper on Mog any feedback welcome

Hi all,

I've just today put a farmi 10" chipper behind my 1200 mog. Its a single roller feed.

1, can I get another feed roller as i'm sure 2 is better than 1?

2, I run the mog in constant pump for the feed rollers and the hydraulic oil gets rather hot. What can I do to stop it getting so hot. Ive tried plugging one end into the return and it doesn't work.

Cheers

Will

Hi We alternate betwene a Junkkari (coppy of a Farmi ) and a jensen A240 , each has its advantages and disadvantages , the one big disadvantage of the Junkari is that the feed rollers are powered by out u1600 mog - this heats the hyd oil to extremes and unless you want to change the 40 liter tank monthly then you will inevitably damage the hyd pump , also because your feed chute is at 45 degrees to the flywheel it means that roadside jobs can be a little awkward or jobs with restricted access to either side of the mog and chipper . The good thing is that as far as 10 inch chippers go both the Farmi and Junkkari are light so you can still fill the box with chip !! out Jensen is a little to heavy really and it significantly reduces the payload .

Hope this may be of help

Could you have mog feeds to chipper feed roller motor where the hydraulic gets hot. Rather then returning back to the mog add a radiator in on the feed motor return. Big enough radiator should sort the problem could even add a fan on the radiator. Bolt the whole assembly to the back of the rotor housing.

Don't know if it would work as i don't know anything about mogs. In my head though it seems like it should.

Which model of Farmi is it ? As far as I am aware all Ch250/260 10" farmis had 2 feed rollers ( there are two types of twin feed roller)so I am surprised to hear of a single feed roller one.

It would help to have a free flow return if this is possible on a mog.

Copy this number into eBay.

I've never used a pto chipper so I've got no idea whether it any good. I want something that can take brashy material I.e. hawthorn easier than our Greenmech 160 and getting the mog to earn its keep

I ran it today at both speeds, 1000 is only way. 540 just bungs shoot up. Type in junkkari HJG into YouTube, it's hilarious! Roller is very sharp, just needs brightening up as infeed has gone a bit rusty. I'll persevere for a bit. Don't want to spend silly money on one, may modify this one with another feed roller.
