Is it worth hitting the credit card a rattle! All views welcome! Thanks in advance!

NO.

Fair enough to borrow (and credit card is a bad way to borrow) if you are guaranteed the work with higher pay to pay it back but never invest on an offchance.

Any decent firm will pay for training but expect to have to pay it back one way or another.

You need tickets at some point but just concentrate on experience first. If you're getting a day a week now, try to expand on that.

Colleges are turning out hundreds of kids with multiple certs but they can't actually get jobs cos they have no experience.

To add to that, when I choose an employee, I choose the right person not necessarily a qualified person.

A good person can get a Quali.

A qualified idiot will always be an idiot, if you get my drift.

Good luck.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
