I love the FS55, great little strimmer, does a lot more than you would expect.

P.S. Get the cow horn one

 

Really it's light as a feather and ponsing around with a harness is a pita unless your using it all day which he won't be.

The stihl fs55 and fs90 etc have horrendous vibration levels! I used one for an hour and got rid of it instantly.

 

I have a tanaka tbc230s for verti strimming and it's much better, though I have still not actually found a small straight shaft loop handle strimmer that's low on vibes.

 

The tanaka is on it's 3rd year without a single repair required. Starts easily and is mega light in weight.

after reading about the new sthils. i think i will stear clear of them. carrying on using the Hondas which do not let me down. if i do get a bigger one. eg 50cc plus will look at a efco. need to try one to see if i can do any more work. or get a scythe for bigger areas. then no fuel or string just me powering it:thumbup:
