Hi

Thinking of getting a website. Lots of ads for suppliers on google. Who have you guys gone with. Did you use a template, make it yourself or spend lots of money and have someone do it for you?

Cheers

Created all mine myself, But they do take some time to do. Unless you want a basic one page site your looking at a week or two to make it. Depending on time and skill level, There are a few providers out there but i would recommend yola. As that's where mine is based. Really easy to use and also comes with advance options as well. Price is around £40-50 a year. If you would like a pro to make it your looking at £400 plus then each year of hosting and they may also charge you to up date it as well.

One thing i will say no website company in the world can promise you to be on the top of google its not possible. After 7-12months you will then be looking at being on the first page. To be on the top of google, You either pay large amounts to google or have a good Search options also known as (SEO). To be near the top it will take around 2Years to get there.

Did mine myself, searched for a suitable CSS template on the web to save the time, then everything else done with Notepad (it's already on your computer, unless you use a Mac) and the GIMP (free alternative to PhotoShop, does everything I need it to do).

If you go down this route you need to be reasonably computer savvy though, if not it might be easier to pay someone to do it.

We have done a very basic one but embarrassingly easy with Yola. Cost nothing just pay for the domain name. Took a morning to make.

You may be wanting something smarter thou as ours is only for firewood.

I made mine myself, isnt bad could be better but i just used notepad and photoshop and used 1and1.co.uk for hosting. But again, you need to know the basic idea of how to make a web page.
