Giant Gruffie

Recommended Posts

Finally the third part of a big project I have been doing for a local school/nursery is finished. Carved from elm this gruffalo stands about 7 foot high (well, sits about 7 foot high and 3+ foot across. Lovely wood to work with and I have enjoyed the whole project. I just hope the kids enjoy it as much as i have enjoyed carving it. The woman in the photo with me is the teacher at the nursery who initiated the whole project. I would have preferred to keep it un-painted but for kids, colour is a better finish
