Swing mill cs powered

It's a very nifty piece of kit, but I think that the applications in the UK are limited. Dimensioned, kilned softwood will only every retail at £300-600 a cubic metre. Through and through or quarter sawn hardwoods retail at £1000-1950 a cubic metre. Production rates are fairly similar, so why cut something that is only worth a third? In addition to that, the kerf is 3 times that of a band mill, so in a day of cutting 40mm stock (say 200mm wide, for the sake of argument), you'd lose an extra 0.38 cubic metres in sawdust versus a band mill (assuming you cut 3 cubic metres). If it's low grade wood, it's not that much of an issue from a cost point of view, but disposing of the sawdust is a real pain!

£4k is what is to buy direct - BUT - there will be 20% import vat on that, a bit of duty and around £400 approx of 'processing costs' (again +vat).

You'd also want at least one spare blade so I would put the cost of the mill at £4,600-00+vat and you need to have the powerhead.

I have a Peterson mill and with a dedicated 24 horse power 4 stroke engine it works reasonably hard at a 6" cut, works hard at an 8" cut.

I have had a email back as I wanted to know the price of this nice little toy and if it could be ship here

And in the email I got sent back he told me someone from the uk has brought one and having it shipped here be interested to no who and how well it works

Hi

That's me. It works well. Come and have a look. Still waiting for CE so not available for sale in EU until March /April but then I will be selling them because I have and am testing it. RRP £4800 +vat if we can get enough interest up. I recommend it personally and am happy to show it to you and discuss all the teething problems I had openly.

Try and get some vids and pics up as from personal experience this is what gets peoples juices running and also it's always great to see pics of people milling timber regardless of tool!
