Swing mill cs powered

I looked into this as it does look really good.... well designed and well built but I thought the price quite high and could not see a market in the UK for it.

I think it's strength is in it's portability and speed, great if you have to trek the mill in jungle or difficult terrain - but price would be in the region of £6,500-00+vat - includes an MS880 powerhead and all you need.

But I think if you had that sort of money to spend on a mill you would be looking at a bandsaw or secondhand swingmill.

This is only my opinion bear in mind and I could well be wrong.

That's what I thought rob I got a price of £3950 shipped with out the power head thought I might as will buy a band saw mill

As it looks like u want 2 people to run the thing in a faster way

I does look good and I could see myself buying one but not at the cost of a new small bandsaw mill

Think I will stick with the Alaskan at the mo even thinking of buying another for the old man to use now I have 2 nice canon bar lol :lol:

Hey rob

well I aint seen a swing mill second hand for under £8k? yes a bandsaw mill is cheaper but thats not what its designed for. and as I have one of those ,,£3950 for the mill seems a fair price,I have an alaskan, which would kill me if I where to mill that whole log up,,havnt got round to using the winch like rob does, but will,,,,then have maybe another view,,,,

if you own a bandsaw and want to quartersaw, you need something to lift off the huge lumps, otherwise its bloody hard work,

don't get me wrong I think its a good bit of kit what im saying its not worth 4k to me as I can move big lumps of wood with a fetching arch u can make one for about 300 pound

I would mill 2,3,4,5 logs with a Alaskan mill don't see it killing u

think a bandsaw mill would be worth more of its 4+ grand
