Carving time lapse

I did this carving. Its no tommy tree carver (of which i never think i'll get within 10% of his skill)(if you dont know his work its well worth checking out the carving forum) im getting better, i did however nearly leave the mouth out and turn it into a gorilla face but decided it finish fully what id started. Opinions and any tips welcome if you think its a pile of rubbish dont be afraid to say and suggest how it could be better.

how long did it take ian, start to finish including tidying up? what was the stump diameter?

 

3 1/2 hrs John, a few chats with locals and taking it easy as i didnt want to make it look like it has suffered a stroke, the stump was around 32" a 35yr old leylandii

you should of put a finished photo at the end !! nice work

 

Yeah i thought about moving it right close at the end then moving it around the carving.......but......... i forgot. Talking of videos is your one finally finished? I've been waiting for like 3 months!! :001_tt2:

haha dont, im sorry, its literally very nearly done, got alot going on at the mo :001_tt2:
