Hey guys,

My name is Anthony, and i am based in the south west (Bristol), basically I am looking for a change of direction in my career. I have trolled theough this and other forums, and reserched a lot into tree surgery and I think its time i took the plunge.

I am looking at doing the cs30/31/38/39 qualifications, and have purchased all my ppe, a ms261, and a ms201t.

I am basically looking for any companies in or around the bristol area which maybe potentially be looking a trainee, or maybe some work experience, i am fourtunate to be friendly with the owner of wolverhampton tree services, and he has offered me the oppertunity to gain some experience with his lads, buti am also looking for something closer if possible?

Basically a little about me, i have been rock and ice climbing for the last 9 years, so work okay at heights, and am very saftey concious, i also passed my test pre 1998 so have 3.5 and trailer to 750. I was a qualified professional but had a redundancy package a eq years ago and "fell" into window fitting, but now i am looking at making an actual career choice.

I am handy with a spanner, and have knowledge of winches and land rovers, to competant level.

I have a cscs card.

I hope maybe joining the ranks of cthe climber sections soon, but lots of exams and loads of lessons to be learnt yet i hear you all screammmm.

Hopefully someone will be in touch and gie me a chance....?

Thanks for your time in reading this uys, and look forward to reading your very informative and interesting posts.

Anthony

Welcome Anthony.

I'm a little confused about your license. Pre '97 would give you B+E and C1, but you state pre 98, which could be just B or more depending on how far pre 98?

Prepare to work for little or no reward for a while, there seem to be quite a few people in a similar position to yours.

I wish you all the best in your journey.

Sorry i can drive up to including 3.5, and can drag a trailer up to and including 750 kg.

I was under the impression it has changed since?

Changed in '97, hence my query.

What you describe there is "category B" which is what you've got if you got your license post (march??) '97.
