Tachyon VS Blue Tounge

I've had both. Tachyon is firmer and runs better through hardware as it's 11.5mm, whereas Blue Tongue is slightly easier in the hands as it's 2mm thicker, which I have found does make a notable difference.

I didn't think it would make that much of a difference being a Tachyon is 11.5mm and BT is 11.7mm so it is only 0.2mm difference.....

I have tachyon and wish I wouldn't of bothered. It's soooooobouncy on long pulls.may not be a big deal for some but being on srt seams too lose some of its advantage.i know you haven't mentioned it but I really rate poison ivy/hi eve, very good rope in my opinion.

yeah used both, you do feel the difference on your hands for sure. but i climb all day everyday pretty much with tachyon and no gloves works for me.

but yes is bouncy on long pulls, but its so light and flows through the crown very well. both pretty hard wearing i think maybe Blue tongue bit more, also might add its exactly the same as Poison Ivy but different colour.

for me Tachyon is number 1

Not tried to blue tongue but I am on my third hank of Tachyon. The new England version not the truffle burger.

I have also climbed a fair bit on Poison Hivee. Far bouncier than Tachyon IME and opinion.

I didn't even bother to resplice the PHivee when I knicked it with a silky. It now sits in the shed ready to be called back into action to tie something down.

Quite shocked by the responses too poison ivy,as said found it much more responsive and less bouncy................but that's not what the post asked so let's move on. As I stated Tachyon does not for me as I do lots of long pulls and it loses it's advantage. Saying that when I was running a spider jack I had no problem with, probably because I wasn't using a throw line too access all the time.feels nice in your hand ,is light around the tree and hitch works well with it too for hitch climber use. Have a mate you just bought blue tongue and said it was okay but wished he'd have gone for velocity.said the blue tongue wasn't as good as he thought it was going to be,said it frayed quickly and milked a lot however that can be said about the tachyon.
