I used to have a shelander. Was quite a nice drive really, just a shame it kept breaking down and costing us money. Yours looks to be in pretty good order

 

The gaylander was only real compromise when baby was born. The wife would not drive anything bigger!

Steve, what kept going wrong with yours, i keep toying with the idea of getting a freelander to pull a small caravan. Are they worth it or not.

 

All sorts really. Most expensive was the head gasket which is pretty common problem, more so on some models than others I believe, so do your homework. I think the diesel one is better?

Cheers steve, it is the td4 that i fancy.

I had the TD4 van as a rep's express! The GreenMech tow tug did 140k miles in 3 years before the front drive shafts rebelled and a change in my circumstances enforced a change. Faultless upto that point but Landrover servicing was ruinously expensive!

 

I would have another!
