self employed how much can i work for one company?

Another test they apply, if my memory serves me correctly, is whether you can send someone else in your place. Ie a genuine subcontractor should be able to substitute workers, and also whether it is your decision to work certain days or hours, or the employers.

They should also not be under the direction of anyone from the contractors company. I.e. Not being managed on site.

I think you will find you are wrong chap. I run all my own equipment. Over the last few months I have been doing a lot of subbing ( to a few different companies). But doing a lot for one in particular. They had their accountant in the week before last, he told them that they are sailing close to the wind with hmrc. We have had to change the way we are booking jobs in.

 

having just had a tax inspection i know i am right:thumbup1: i send them the dates for each job, its upto them if they are available, they have there own transport, safety gear and tools plus insurance, i provide the equipment

 

we even do jobs for hmrc:lol:
