Is it noted as hosting on Acer ?

 

Yes, I found it twice on Acer in The Netherlands and both times fruiting from/inside a large wound/cavity.

I saw this on Sycamore yesterday, mature tree, in reasonable vigour given size, location etc.

 

Picture below, i noticed white marking on bark from a distance, though it may be Kretz, close inspection revealed these.

 

I have a closer view of a bracket i removed (the one in the second picture) if that is of any further help.

There are multiple, certainly 5-6 areas around the stem where this occurs in varying sizes.
