Interesting one this, got a pop to fell subbying for someone else, tree is knackered and will fail at somepoint (maybe tonight maybe 20 years time) we found a nest and just made the phone call and went and did another job for them. I'd be very surprised if we don't have to go back and relocate the nest after guidance from the client (council) has been sought

R

Is the R a reference to a category or what ? I don't think the council will be much use in re homing homeless birds  in fact what are the council good for ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

The R is short for Rob...........

As the job is for the council they will need to decide whether they can justify re homing the birds v. danger to the public/property. In other words I'll let someone cleverer :-) than me make the decision and I'll do what I'm told like a good boy

For me, it depends on the bird, doves, pigeons etc that's just collateral, something rarer takes some deliberating. Little jobs like finches and tits, difficult to spot, bad luck for them.

If you have a crew with machinery turn up at a job and drive away 'cos there's a doves nest in there....good luck explaining that to the bank!

its a difficult one if you do disturb nest and you do get seen doing it and the authority come along i stand corrected i believe its £5k for disturbing nest £5k for disturbing the mother £5k for the nest and depending on what species say blue tit has 9 young 9x £5k its a a big fine. but how dangerous is tree if council want it down ask the council to get the rspb to check it if happy for tree to be felled you have it in writing and covered
