HI all,

We finished early today so i decided to have ago at making my new chip/log box,

sides are 500mm high, 1" box was used, plus 1.5mm galv sheet, galv hinges & latch and homemade locking latch at the top..

So we made the frame, riveted the sheeting on,

made doors, riveted that sheeting on then bolted to the truck after it was sprayed and trued up the doors and added the finishing touches, (extra braces etc).:001_smile:

labour was approx 13/14 hours

&materials were £150.00 , the sides are going to be signwritten shortly.

i think it looks smart and is sturdy & very strong,

hope it looks ok,.

If you chip into that you'll be having half your load on the roof and all down the windscreen and bonnet

Always fun getting into a dark cab :)

Agree on the headboard but see its sorted.

Looks good though. Need to make my own like that. Woods a bit knackered now after 2 years

Hi Josh, How you getting on with your Chip box? Still pondering whether to have one built on my Ranger double cab. Got a TW 150 and a TT85 trailer, but want to avoid double journeys on small jobs if I can. Do you think it is worth the expense for the amount of chip you can hold? Have you had it rammed full yet? More than 1.5m3? Any other thoughts/ideas would be appreciated, Cheers
