Pa6/pa2

Hey all,

 

I recently passed my PA1 about 2 days ago, well pleased was going to do PA6 with it but thought ill see if I could pass pa1 first as you can't take 6 until you have done 1.

 

I have a Question that I would like to ask, Because PA2 is Boom Spraying for tractor and quad bike spraying, because they have bigger tanks do you still have to take a separate test for the PA6 or do you get the PA6 when you pass the PA2 if that makes sense ??

I think they're separate tickets. PA1 is the foundation ticket, you need it to do any subsequent tickets, but all the others are stand alone units.

they are all separate PA6 knapsack but you can use a boom on one. to spray a wider path. then there are a few others PA2 ,3,4 list goes on all for different tasks. depends what your main role is going to be most do PA6 do the AW parts can be a string to bow spraying on waercourses. wish i had mine. would have to do a retest to get my aw

My PA2A covers me for PA4 PA6 andPA8, but there again I am an old git so it may have changed since

I stand corrected if you take the tests now you need to do individual courses for knapsack and tractor sprayers. I am covered because I took the courses in the late 80's early 90's. Appolagies for confusion caused.

What are the most common Pesticide Application Units?

 

PA1 – Foundation Module. Covers legislation, storage, records, labels etc and is compulsory. The assessment is computer based and takes place at a test centre. All those who wish to use pesticides in the workplace must hold this certificate.

 

PA2 – Field crop sprayer applicator unit. Covers the use of boom sprayers mounted on tractors or other prime movers. The assessment usually takes place at the candidates normal place of work.

 

PA6 – Hand held sprayer applicator unit. Covers the use of knapsack or other hand held applicators. The assessment usually takes place at the candidates normal place of work.

 

PA2 and PA6 are BOTH required if both applicators are to be used.
