well unless you are using a wirecore that im unfamilar with, even though you might cut the v.t, the eye on the flipline still isnt to fit through the krab/pulley....so you're still going to be stuck

Not if you cut the vt above the pulley unless i'm being really thick ! You realeasing the wire core so you can decend on your mainline ?

Thats a good point Steve. I'll have to use a different Hitch or just buy a soft link.

When you say soft link are you talking about quick draw slings that are used as part of the protection on rock climbing ? If so i wouldn't be happy with the abrasion that can occur close to your harness in tree work..

Yeah, that's what I use Matt. Have never had an issue/noticed much abrasion occuring with it. Mine is about 10cm long after it is choked on to my side d-ring so sits quite snugly close to the harness.

Just wondering is it really any better to have all the extra attachments and possible problems than just using a prussik and Krab?

 

Not having a go at anyone else's system just interested, I like to keep things plain and simple with all of my climbing kit.
