Not true really.

Many chemicals are withdrawn because it does not make financial sense to the producers to put them through the approval scheme when it needs renewing. They are then banned from use, not because they do any harm but because the paperwork to prove that in triplicate is too expensive.

after bumping some other contacts, I am going to try 'subdue' by Syngenta. thankfully you don't need much 15ml x 100ltr @ 5ltr x 1m2 and it come is small bottles!

 

We have a client with a long holly hedge, looking at it last night it appears to have two smallish patchs infected with P. ilicis. Is Subdue available over the counter for the owner to buy? My searches all end up in the states.

Try Fargro, don't think its cheap tho at around £200 a bottle from memory.:biggrin:

From memory I thought the species of phytophera that effect Ilex are air born,ive always sprayed then washed in on 11cm liners.:001_smile:
