Knackered as in dead, or dying with localised dysfunction?

What height was it at Dave?

Bracket was between the buttresses, tree was alive and looked well, obviously no leaf so cannot comment on leaf size or form, but there was extensive decay around the buttresses.

Hosted on Sycamore, made me drawn towards Fomes fomentarius (Hoof/Tinder Fungus)

 

But you say between decayed butresses, so this would pull me toward Ganoderma applanatum.

 

Did you try pressing through the crust on the top surface?

 

 

 

If Mrs Skyhuck hasn't thrown you and the bracket out with t'garbage yet, can you cut a wedge out of the front edge so I can have a butch at the tubes.
