Hi Hazelnut

On the rear of your fuel injector pump there is a fuel shut off solenoid fitted, this holds the fuel supply open electrically, allowing the engine to be stopped by turning the ignition key off.

The solenoid is fitted with 2 coils within it, the pull coil voltage is supplied from the crank side of the ignition switch during starting, whereas the hold coil voltage is supplied through a relay which monitors oil pressure and water temperature, so if you have an engine problem it will shut down the engine for its own protection.

Timberwolf has a dedicated technical support helpline that may be able to help diagnose the problem, give them a call they can be contacted on 01449-765820
