Hi all,

Looking at a ktm 125 sx, 2006,

Just wondering if anyone on here has a motor cross bike and if you run stihl hp oil, its a fully synthetic oil with good lubricating properties,

If not will just get sum fully synthetic proper MX oil,

When I had my old bike I used Fuchs MX oil, and that worked in saws so just wondering wether it would work the other way round.

Then I can run all my kit and bike on 50.1 stihl hp super :)

Cheers

I'd definitely run the bike on an oil designed for high performance water-cooled bikes. A 125's going to be running flat out too.

Me too. Chances are it would be OK for a while, but why risk it. Other than the fact they are both two strokes, they are totally different engines doing totally different jobs.

I always used to use Silkolene Comp 2 with no probs, mostly in 125's too.

One thing I'm curious on though - it does seem like a lot more of the 2 stroke bikes want 50:1 now, whereas in the past everyone used to run 30:1.

Are the oils just better now so you don't need as much?

I ran my old tm 125 mx bike on the stihl hp oil at 50:1 ratio and had no problems with it at all and it didnt effect performance at all, it done just as well as all the other oils i used and ran quite smooth :) maybe give it a shot and see what u think of it :) sweet bike by the way i envy you :D
