Yellow Pages

I`ve had a yell ad and mostly it annoyed me the money i payed for very little response. However, the odd little job has led to thousands in knock on work and has kept me going. so yes, you do have to be in it to win it and it is worth tracking what jobs came from where.

I`d be interested to know where everyone else gets their work from though, other than recommendadtion. Personally i get alot of work from leaflets

never have or would use the yellow pages to advertise....word of mouth is the best way but unfortunietly takes a long time!ive found small parish mags in prosperous areas helped to take off and is building me up alone ,im certainly not worrying about lack of work unike a few guys i know.

letters to farmers and estates around here are on the plan as well for scrounging some fire wood.

Had an ad in yell.com now for 3 months and have only had calls from idiots tring to flog me more advertising, not a job in site! Yellow pages ad is paid for and after reading all these posts am getting a bit worried:scared1:

I've had an add in YP and Yell.com for about 3yrs now n last year paid for a Secondary Sponsored Listing on Yell, i've had loads of work from it and im even attracting interest from major commercial company's such as Harrow Developments.:001_smile:

Been in YP since I started in the 80's and get a mixture of work.Tried Yell.com and got very little. I find that a lot of retired folk still use the phone books and not PC's and at times like this they are the ones that have a bit put by for rainy days. Bit like xmas time when drops off, usually the calls come in from the older folk not worried to much about cash.

I find we get our name passed on a lot from the gardeners at uni's and hospitals etc. Always try and give the gardeners the odd day dragging brash at wkends, that way they feel they are helping themselves by helping us.
